A series of touching photos show children holding chalkboards stating how long they were in foster care before being adopted.
The photographs show the children – many of them very young – smiling after finally being given a permanent family.
According to Together We Rise(TWR), every day, 1,200 kids enter foster care in the United States, a life that is often filled with stigma and uncertainty.
TWR aims to improve the lives of children in the U.S. foster care system by offering resources like school supplies, bicycles, educational programs and even college scholarships.
Posting families’ adoption day photos is one of the ways they hope to spread the word about adopting through foster care and reminding people that foster children are exactly that: precious children who deserve joy and bring happiness to thousands of families every day.
A quick perusal of these photos make one thing clear: There’s not just one type of foster kid. And they all deserve a permanent home.
